Gauging interest before bugging these guys at all.
These guys do fab work/design on a handful of nissans. Found em online when trying to see if anyone came up with a pretty way to lop off our waste of space front bumper.
Not about to spend a grand, or even 500 to do somethin as... non- performance oriented.. as aesthetic modification. These guys have some attractive prices for the products they sell.
It even seems like they might take the bait if A: theres a dozen people interested, and B: they can obtain/have access to a GE to start figuring out designs.
Another key motivator, next time you're in your fit, just look at that dashboard. Really look at it. I already intend to one day rip it out and redo it in sheetmetal... once I know how. Aluminum would be so much prettier, and not cut limbs off if you got in an accident.
Little too ambitious I guess. Well, maybe to help someone in the future heres some pics of the work these guys do. Splitter. Im sure all our stock ones are thrashes
Center console
Door panel
Rear diffuser Front grill
this is the kinda stuff they do. Made to order, hence why I think it possible, and everything shown above is either 2 or 300 bucks. I mean, pretty expensive for stuff that wouldnt yield performance gains on our cars, but cheap cheap for what they are.
would say 95% of the Fit population does not want an aluminum dash. It looks cool in a race car or old Datsun but out of place in a Fit, IMO. A spliter would be cool but again I think its a very limited market.
Thats a shame. Judging by response you're dead on. A number of the things they got are too loud to match the eco styling of the fit, but a nice small front splitter/rear diffuser. ditching the beat up plastics, personally I'm surprised. Thought the JDM guys would jump at least. Anyways I'll see if i can scrap this thread
