Changing transmission fluid newbie.
I've been doing some research on the tans fluid fluid. I've never done this before. I had a couple questions.
1. I want to use the honda specific fluid. Which is the right one to get for my model year? 2011 sport/auto
2. My plan is to drain the trans fluid into a clean empty windshield fluid bottle. Fill the bottle, mark the level with a marker. Dump out the old fluid and fill the new fluid to the marker line. Then fill up through the trans dipstick.
Does this sound right? Want to make sure I do it right before I start. I read about the multiple drain and refill. I'd prefer not to do it that way. My fit has 52k miles. From what I read if I drain and fill at this oil change and drain and fill at the next oil change I would have changed out the majority of the old fluid..am I understanding that right?

1- Go to the Honda parts counter and ask for transmission fluid. They will give you the right one.
2- Don't measure your new fluid with what has been drained. Just fill the transmission once you're done and adjust the level according to the dip stick. Measuring the old fluid would be convenient to plan how much new fluid you need to buy.

I changed my CVT fluid in a 2015 Fit. The drain plug was tight. May need a breaker bar. Its easy. I am finding most things are easy to change on this car. I recommend you check the owners manual for the specifications.

Might want to consider this . https://www.idemitsulubricants.com/i...tf/type-h-plus . Available through auto parts stores and Amazon . Considering this for next auto fluid .
