Transmission fluid change?

Hi all,
I'm a new member and have enjoyed reading some of the posts, questions and answers. I have one of my own about changing the automatic transmission fluid in my Fit. The car has 115K and possibly, the fluid has been changed (two previous owners) but not sure when or how often. I just changed it and the fluid appeared a dark red which is an indication that it probably wasn't changed in a while. Question is---since I just changed it, and I don't know how well this has been kept up, would anyone know if it is advisable to change the fluid again, now that I have a couple hundred miles on it---just to get it "cleaner"? Thanks for any feedback. Hey, what an easy job! Pull the plug, empty and refill. I don't know why anyone with an automatic transmission wouldn't keep this fluid, pristine all the time!

We bought our '13 used and at 55K Miles, the ATF had never been changed. I did a simple drain and fill with Honda fluid and replaced the ATF Filter. The old fluid was nearly black. As you know, a drain and fill leaves a quantity of dirty fluid remaining, so I worked another drain and fill at 63K, not replacing the filter. The second change yielded cleaner looking fluid than was seen at the first change, but was darkened enough that I was convinced the second change was worth the effort.

I agree with your summary. Given the simplicity, seems to me too that Honda should recommend a 30K drain and fill.

Thanks, Alco. I will put on a few more miles, then change the fluid again and the filter. Have a good one!
