'09 Fit Sport Seats- Pain in Butt?
#2
Funny, coming from a Subaru Forester I found that the Fit seats are way more comfortable for extended periods (though I miss the heated option in winter). Since you work in an applicable medical field, isn't there some sort of 'donut' that is designed to sit on to take pressure off the sciatic nerve?

Look at my car list, I've got some pretty nice seats in my other cars, even some fancy Scheels in my 914. IMO, the Fit seats are excellent. I took a 350 mile trip in mine, no issues at all. But, that's my butt, not yours!

I too think the seats in the Fit are very good. No back/butt pain here!
Does the pain occur right away, or only after driving for a while? Only suggestion is to try moving the seat around to find a more comfortable position, or get a seat cushion.

Personally, I love the seats. However, I have noticed that they sit quite higher than I'm used to, which I like. I like these seats a lot more than my old 06 Accord EX.
I could see how the higher seats might be problematic for shorter folks on long rides. The higher seats were one of the first things I noticed when I got my Fit. In fact, it was the very first thing my brother-in-law mentioned when he sat in the back seat. It seems odd since it's a Japanese car and most Japanese are under 5 feet tall! Just kidding... I'm an anomaly at 6'1''.

Very good seats for me, except that after a couple of miles driving after first sitting, I have to move my butt to the right because I didn't sit in the center in the first place. Not the car's fault. Call it a lazy butt.

i have on 08 and the seats aren't bad, but the bolsters should be a bit more skinny, i tend to slide aroudn in them, and i'm pretty avg size. 5ft 11 170 pounds. i think that the seats' grip shoudl match the cars handling ability.
not really answering the question but more asking one. do those ones pillows tha maek your back curve actually help? i've seen some people using them.

Heck, coming from my S2000, I feel like I'm driving a big rig... They ARE high up. I liked the height adjustment on our Subaru's driver's seat and wish this had the same. But they're okay. Not super comfortable, but not bad.

I know what you mean. I came from a Del Sol to a Fit, and the Del Sol had the most comfortable driving position ever, it was great. The seats in the Fit hurt my back for a little at first, but now I guess I'm used to them, as I have no more pain. Everyone else who rides in my car loves the seats.
