12 Volt Power Triple Adaptor

I bought a cheap (either $10 or $11, can't remember exactly) 3-way power splitter from Advance Auto Parts that fits nicely into the small rectangular space just below the 12 volt power outlet on the 09 Fit. This isn't in the same league as some of the nice, custom power outlets others have added, but it's quick and easy. The 3-way splitter is just wedged in with some gray foam, cut from pipe insulation. There are some air vents in the top of the splitter, so I made sure not to cover those with foam. I also left a gap in the foam at the top for heat to escape. But I would still be careful not to use this for high current devices like a 110V inverter because heat might be an issue. I've felt no heat with this powering my GPS, MP3 and cell phone charger. Here it is:

Not bad but you could do it up real nice with OEM outlets added right next to the exiting one on that panel for not very much money and just a little disassembly.

quick and convenient!

i suppose next time you're down there with the panel off to install LED's or something for the cup holders, you can hard wire the 3 sockets wire from the back and mount the 3 adapter housing securely with some 3M mounting tape or a bolt. i have a feeling when you pull the plug out the entire unit pulls out of the pocket especially on a hot day.

Anyone know of any problem doing that and can that piece of dash the current one is in be remove to ease the install process ? Also can I just tap off the other one or do I have run 2 new separate connections ?

on the GE you will want to remove the flat panel above the cigarette lighter panel first
(just pull towards you flat. it's a tight fit) and then you'll have better access to the
panel with the cigaratte lighter. there's plenty of room inside.

here's the panel with the cigartte lighter. i put a LED next to it.

as far as power, you can tap off the other one if you don't use them a lot, otherwise i'd probably run new power wires. The pre-installed factory one just uses very small gauge wire to be running a lot of things off of.
