Garmin Gps power

How can I use my Garmin GPS that has a power cord that only fits a cigarette lighter? The Honda Fit Auxiliary power slots wont accept the old style power cord and it is a fire hazard too.
Help

Hmm... I used my rather old GPS in the aux power slot (aka cigarette lighter) and it worked just fine. What is the fire hazard?

Maybe a picture of your cord or model of your GPS could help.

My Garmin lighter power cord works just fine. It a fairly new Garmin however. Didn't know older power cables were any different

Just got a new Garmin and it works fine out both slots..as did the old one. Maybe you've got a bad cord.
