Must be a new record! Short trips, cold climate. Also, its a 2009, bought 12/15/09 with 224 mi., pre-delivery inspection date, 11/17/08. That's right, 08. So the factory fill has been in 2 years. Change the oil? Go directly to synthetic, or do 1 more dino?

That's the shortest interval I've ever seen!
But hey...Honda says you should have replaced the oil every year regardless of miles or the MM...
If you don't expect to use the car much, by all means use dino (mineral) oil. Synthetic is a waste of money.
The limiting factor is not the effectiveness of the oil, it is contaminants caused by the short trips. Honda recognizes this, which is why they recommend a yearly oil change for little-used vehicles.

It was the break in factory fill that I was concerned about getting rid of too soon that lead me to go longer. As you can see, there were only 224 mi. on the car after MORE than 1 year, so there could not have been that many contaminants. As for going with the dino oil, the usage I've done so far would be severe usage by anyone's standard, thus causing me to consider going to synthetic to mitigate short trip ware. I'll probably go for the change in the next week or 2. Would still like comment on whether to use synth or conventional.
