Red face +4 year +40k update

So hitting 100k now and 4 years since last incident I started noticing the all-too-familiar gas smell while driving. I went ahead and checked all the spark plugs (which is actually quite easy now with a skinny left arm). 4 years ago I tapped/rethreaded the #2 spark plug but this time it checked out okay. It was the #4 (USA Driver's side) that was loose about 1.5 turns. Kind of bummed a plug loosened but happy it only loosened a bit. Since the car isn't worth too much I may try to put some high temp permanent threadlocker to the spark plugs and I should be good till 200k.

i had a couple of loose plugs on my car a year and a half ago. the loosest one was tighter than hand tight, but definitely not at the recommended torque. replaced all of them and have done what i described above and they have been fine.

anyways, keep an eye on em and i hope u get em sorted
20 ft/#s as per the dealer in the updated service manual.

I used the blue Permatex directly on the spark plug threads and I now have 63,000 miles and have had any issues nearly 40,000 miles.
My dealer wanted $310 CDN each for coil pack! Rockauto ended up being my new best friend.

No loose plugs in 100k on my 2011 FIT after using some blue Loctite or Permatex and using the 13lb-ft torque.
