Should I fix recalls for my HF 2009 ?

I have Fit 4 doors basic 2009 automatic. It runs fine, I like it, just the fuel efficiency is a bit below what I would like to see (and the MPG meter is off by > 10%).

There were several recalls for this car, and my dealership keeps reminding that I should visit them. Should I ? Or they are more likely to break things while fixing those recalls ?

I'd say get them to fix it. If you notice that they broke something, don't leave the dealership until you let them know because as soon as you leave that lot, they can just say that it wasn't there when you picked the car up.

I meant, are you guys aware of important recalls with your Fits, so that when they got fixed your driving experience has improved ?

Well, i'm aware that there's a recall to fix the MPG meter inaccuracy on 09's, which yours obviously needs. There's a few other recalls but I can't recall what they were

I haven't had any recalls on my '10.

I thought i read somewhere that if the recall was safety or emissions related that it could impact your ability to renew your registration in CA. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not, but that was the primary reason i finally got my VSA recall taken care of. Plus safety is cool i guess.

The 09 had the engine "Lost Motion Spring" recall. Get it done.

I took my 09 Sport/MT in for 60k service a couple months ago.
First service for it. I got it in in Sept. 08 and have changed the oil and filter when needed.
Also had heater blower motor issues back in 2011 that was fixed under warranty.
Asked to have the brake and tranny fluid changed and new pads.
They cleaned up the discs but didn't want to fix my windshield squirter that only has one stream on the driver's side. Cost $1200 with new shift knob ($60) and wheel hub cover($35).
My mileage is at least as good by the ECU so I don't know if they flashed/updated it.
I know -- I should calculate it myself.
How can I tell if it's been updated? I have Torq OBD (free version)
Still loving Fitsville
