Guidance needed! Just bought a 2009 Fit Sport
Newbie here, sorry.
I bought a 2009 black pearl AT Fit Sport this weekend. I love the car - it's been on my short list for the "next new car" after a friend picked one up a few years ago. Plenty of room for all my horns, but small enough that parking in the city is a breeze.
It was previously owned by someone who used it for groceries and little else (miles under 5,000
), but it has an open recall for the lost motion spring. I've been reading up on the recall threads so I'm feeling prepared for it, but I don't have a relationship with the Honda dealers in the greater Cleveland area - are there any NE Ohioans around with suggestions?

You don't need a relationship with the dealer. Just bring it in and ask to have to checked (they will ask for the VIN) if the recall has been done on your car. They can't charge you and if it's not been done, they will do it or have it done at another dealer you feel more comfortable with. They are obligated to by Honda corporate, because the recall is by them, and they reimburse the dealer. There should never be any charge to ever in a recall situation.
Another route is to call Honda US proper, again with your VIN and ask to check if the recall has been done on your car. They should be able to help you as well.
