LSM recall. Better or worse now?

Hi folks

Recently purchased a , new to me, 2009 Honda fit sport in bSP. The previous owner hasn't done the recall yet and when I brought my car, the carfax report said it was an undone recall.

Furthermore, I have been reading the somewhat bad rep that this recall has done. I don't exhibit any of th problems but wonder if anyone has gotten this work done in 2012 and can vouch or complain about it?

You won't exhibit any problems until the springs break. Then it could cause collateral damage which won't be covered by Honda since you and/or PO ignored the recall. It's been 1-1/2 years since the recall was announced so better take it in soon. Research around for the best dealer first, might be worth it to drive a little to ensure best quality work.

I was one of the very first to have the LMS done. had it in to the dealer before anyone had even received the letter. I even told the dealer about it and they had to research the number before verifying it. They put their best guy on it and the only issue I had was the clips for the cowl were broken. They replaced that with no questions asked a month or two later. No issues so far and the car seems to run just fine with over 40K on the Odo.

I had the LMS recall done a couple years back. I don't think my dealer even removed the cowl, as nothing seemed disturbed. Only issue I had was it took two trips back to get the valves adjusted right. First time, I had a noisy valve, second time I had a tight valve which kept throwing an error
code.

No difference in the way the engine runs or fuel economy since the recall that I can see.
