I have a 2010 fit sport i recently installed a Pioneer FH-X700BT head unit. FH-X700BT - <b>NEW!</b> - 2-DIN CD Receiver with Bluetooth® MIXTRAX™, USB Control for iPod®/iPhone®, and Pandora® Ready | Pioneer Electronics USA I had problems with the installation right away first they said i wouldnt need they wiring harness kit then they said i might but supposedly they were able to work it out with my factory harness. anyway the new HU sounds pretty crappy, bass and mids is alright but seems to be missing highs i have played with every setting and still sounds bad. Im wondering they didnt wire up the tweeters or something? Any advice on how to make it sound better would be appreciated thanks.

 

Did you flip the polarity of your speakers?

I used to think "it doesn't matter which way you wire the speaker, it plays, right?"

Oh, how wrong I am! When I'd reverse a speaker wire, it flips the waveform upside down and it begins to cancel out with the other waveforms in the car. It begins to sound tinny and crappy.

If your wiring harness isn't quite correct, it's possible IT is flipping the waveform on one or more of the speakers.

 

If the wiring is out of phase you only lose base and imaging, not highs.

 

What I found to be strange is how aftermarket speakers sound worse then the stockers. My alpine sps-610 sounds like it has considerbly less bass then the shitty stockers. And yes they are wired right, just sounds really weak bass but clarity is all there just no bass. The factory ones had more boom then this.
