I think the Jazz is (unfortunately) still perceived as an "old persons" car; you tend to see drivers in their +50s driving Jazzes and maybe school run mums.

Maybe due to this fact that there isnt many suppliers of modifications for them.

Theres also quite a lot of competition in this sector as well in the UK as we also have the Mazda2, Ford Fiesta and Nissan Micra which are quite popular.

We are getting the 2, and the Fiesta just came out here. No Micra though. The Nissan Versa (not sure what it is over there) outsells all the subcompacts. It will be interesting to see if the Honda get's less popular as these come out. I doubt it. We loooove space, and Honda's image appeals to a wider spectrum of folks here.

Why people don't tune their jazz or even buy one..

Well let's face it they are idiots, my house mate dreamt of 2.8L BMX touring 3 Series so bought that as it's rear wheel drive, Road tax twice that of a Jazz fuel comsumption terrible, it's an estate yet you can't even find a place to put a drinks can! the handbrake is unreachable, on the other side of the gearlever/stick you can't see anything as you arse is on the ground and it kills you at every oppurtunity. Insurance is through the roof as it's group 16 and if I were to race him I'd lose the 0-60 but I'd actually get to the finish line alive and with petrol to spare. There is nothing wrong with the Honda Jazz I have 3 but people in England don't think creatively nowadays this car is screaming out as an obvious choice for young drivers to pick up mod and the parent's will know that it's a safe car and reliable and hold it's value unless the wreckless kid rams it up a tree. or rolls it like I did... but that's besides the point. In Japan mods are freely available at the Honda dealer in the UK it's a mission to source parts even if you are mad enough to mod the car. I love my car as it's light and efficient, safe, cheap to run because it is mainly old people that own them, god bless 'em that means the likes of me and you get cheap insurance and road tax and the feeling of being, well different.
I don't want a load of young chavs to mess this car up like they do to eeverything they attach their hooks into Burberry, Corsas, and nikes all these brands are sh1t because chavs love 'em. Rant over peace out lol

Hey mate very nice looking Jazz you got. Just wanted to ask, that DC2 gear knob, will any 5 speed + 1 reverse fit on the Jazz? I'm looking into getting a brushed aluminium one myself.

JDM Type R gear knob - Honda EK9 Civic / DC2 Integra on eBay (end time 19-Sep-10 00:14:34 BST)

Heres one I'm looking at.
Cheers

Hi Jason,

I wouldnt say for sure that any 5 speed knob will fit the Jazz, but I believe those from other Honda will fit.

The knob in the link you posted was actually what I was going to get, but decided to get a "proper" and genuine DC2 gear knob. Be interesting to see how good it looks.

Just took a few pics on my phone so will get better ones when i get a chance but i LOVE them!!

Had so much trouble getting the original seat rails off but finally got them done last week.

Also got a resistor kit from Capital Seating for the air bag plug and luckily got another friend who knows his stuff and he did the whole thing for me which i'm very greatful.

I think next up is some wheels and think that will be it for the time being methinks.

Bride rail was indeed a direct bolt on replacement.

However, we had to drill some holes into the Bride rail as the hole didnt line up to the Recaros, but it wasnt a major issue

I bought the K&N after reading about it from another member on the forum and thought I'd give it a try and managed to get it for £30-£35 after some forum discount on another forum that I'm on.

Slightly more induction noise as expected but not too loud, but have noticed slight more torque.

Nice progress Gary!

Very rare to see Cerulean Blue GEs being dressed up, even here. The color's sadly been discontinued on these shores.

Any wheel plans?

Thanks Type 100 ;D

Wheel plans- I'm pretty much set on getting some Rota Spec R in 16 which are DC2 replica- heres a mock pic i'd made to see what it would look like

The supplier has a set of used Works Emotion CR in 16 bronze but they have quite a lot of damage and I dont think it will be worth my while to buy them at the asking price and getting them refurbished. I've made an offer on the Works but doubt it will be taken so the Spec R will do for now lol

More in my photobucket account (link on first page)

As you can see, the front sticks out slightly, mainly due to the fact that its ET35, so I'm sure if this is allowed for mot so will be popping into my local Honda dealer at lunchtime as they carry our my servicing and mot needs and i know the guys very well.

Just back from visiting my local Honda dealer.

The senior mechanic that does the MOT confirmed that the alloys/ tyres / bulge or whatever you want to call it, is fine and he has no problem passing it when the time comes

All I need to do now is sort out the alignment which is booked for Thursday.

He did suggest that if I wanted to reduce the gap, then to put the oem 175/65 tyres on so might try that when the time comes to change tyres, so will wait and see.

Yeah, I get to keep my wheels

Been a while and got some parts....

Quick pic just taken

New addition are Mugen side skirts and rear lip bumper plus Spoon N1 backbox.

Was never too keen on the N1 on the EP3s but I "needed" a backbox to compliment the Mugen rear lip as it has an exhaust mould so it would look silly imo if there was no exhaust pipe coming out.

The N1 is what I remember it being on an EP3 so not sure if I like that much rumbling/noise and no doubt the missus will complain when we go out in it this weekend.

Will get more pics when weather improves
