Takeda CAI install and 35% window tint pictures

Tint cost me 150bux, no bubbles as of yet.. i hope it lasts.
Only complaint i have about the intake is that the sticker was not completely on when it came. like it was partly coming off.. so iam hoping it will stick now after i mashed it back down and drove it for a bit
I hated to spend so much on the intake but it came with alot of stuff... 100% complete.. where as my old intake that came on my mustang, it came with like half the stuff needed to make it work. This comes with EVERYTHING even instructions and with all this extra stuff such as liscense plate frame, and a really cool Key chain. and a few stickers (which i will never use) its just a good quality product, well packaged with many goodies included. I recommend Takeda, just because they are the most professional out of all the other companys i seen. No propaganda advertising, with crazy claims that their product is SOOOoO great. The only reason I bought this intake was because they seemed to have the less marketing schemes.

As for how the intake sounds, its nothing like my Boosted/intercooled/blow-valve previous car... but.. you can hear it occationaly when you hit the gas pedal. a small suction sound. About the same volume of sound as a blow-off valve that has been recirculated.
The CAI was 260 from Ebay, it took an hour to install. the hardest part was actually taking off the old intake at the vacume line. here is a pic of the vacume line attached to the new intake:

its probly 1+ extra to the wheels lol

if your getting Cold air intake for dyno results.. your going to be in for a treat....

i had mustangs where i added CAI, and they absolutely amount to about stock performance... you won't see dyno results untill your boosted..

atleast i didn't see any real dyno numbers untill i was boosted.

i had 2 cars previous to this where i went to CAI.. and of course you'll feel a placebo effect.. to be 100% honest i never felt my cars go faster untill i was boosted, when you are boosted its a 100% fact that your accelerating faster.

but in reality.. its highly doubtful that theres any CAI in the world that would actually have a difference in acceleration.

Does it not mount to the chassis anywhere besides the throttle body? From the pictures it looks like there isn't any other mounting points. Hopefully there is or this thing is going to bang around on the tranny.

Good luck with the intake and may it bring you some smiles while driving.

Looks good. And you're not going to feel anything until you complete the install... I don't see any stickers and the license plate frame isn't on yet. Everyone knows THOSE are the items that increase performance.

Hows the night visibility with the 35% tint? I'm definitely going to tint my Fit, seeing as how its all windows. Just need to find an amount that will actually do something, but will allow me to see at night.

idk everyones eyes are different, for me its perfect. but i know what you mean.. theres some cars i driven that its been nearly impossible to see out the window next beside you its so dark.. but beleive me 35% is not really that dark.

i wish the pictures weren't so reflective.. maybe iam taking the pictures at a bad time of day. i'll try and clean the car up some and take better ones

Thanks for the pics. I was curious about the filter placement.

just wondering are there any concerns as to the position of the filter and the possibility of it getting wet? or is the something that blocks it?

That's exactly what I was wondering... if you went through some unusually high water is the filter going to take a bath and hydrolock your engine? It looks like the filter placement is really low.

Seems to me I've seen some Takeda installs where, instead of them elbowing down, they somehow elbowed the filter end across, to the right and in front of the battery. Anyone else seen this? Is there even enough room in front of the battery to elbow the tubing in that direction? Wherever I saw this, maybe they modified the tubing or something.

Anyway, out of all of the intakes, I like the Takeda as much as any of the others. Actually more... because of those accelerator-boosting stickers, the license frame and the key chain!

Good pics of the install. I still cant personally justify close to $300 for maybe 4whp. But it looks like a very nice intake. Dry flow is a plus too since it doesn't rust like typical cones.

From a Cobra to Fit? Interesting change. Still hope to pick me up a black 03' to match my black Fit.

iam going to try and get a better picture of you guys when i change the oil, it will be another like 2 thousand miles before i do that tho, iam almost at 8k miles right now

because if you look below the battery its like a plastic plate down there that covers it, so i don't think the filter gets wet.
we'll know for sure when i get get a good pic directly from under the car tho.

ok its been 6 months and heres an update:
Heres a picture of under the car, to show that the plastic peice under the car covers it from rain,

and as you can see it has a small stain on the filter now to where it MIGHT get dirty from the rain.. which seems to be just a small stain, so i don't think the filter actually gets saturated:

I went 35% all around too and think its perfect. Dark enough to work and look good but not too dark to affect night vision.
