So my g/f and I decided to go back out on route 66 again, last time it was cold and snowy, but a nice day. We drove out to Odell Illinois and picked up the route from where we left off....



Not the best weather, but we were pointed in the right direction and headed on!


This station was restored pretty much to its former glory and was built in 1932, classic route 66!






I'd like to get some of the good ol' stuff, but I don't think the Fit would like it too much and not to mention this pump hasn't put out any fuel in MANY decades!


You gotta love brick, old school writing and baseball player from back in the day, again, classic route 66!




Getting hungry looking at all the pics, have a big wiener!


He looks like he might eat the Fit as a snack!


Back home and cleaned up after the 375 mile round trip where it rained on the way back.

 

Drove on part of 66 through Albuquerque, NM a couple years back. It was pretty much like your pics in some parts. Had a cool old, small town feel to it.

next time go the whole 9 yards on 66. come to the very west end of 66 at the santa monica pier...enjoy some seafood and head back home. lol.

 

looks like a great trip. Last summer we came back from a ct to ca cross country trip on route 66. Was a really good time. Saw some weird/cool things.

 

Hopefully I'm able to do this sometime before I die as its something I really, really wanna do. I'd love to hit route 66 out in New Mexico and Arizona

Very cool. Can't wait to go across country in mine.

 

I wanna drive out on those parts of route 66 where there's 3 ft weeds growing out in the middle of the road and there's no one around

 

There is a good section of this 4 lane with beveled curbs near Jerome Missouri.


Of course I usually take my other Honda for that...
