Project Mad Panda - My 2010 Taffeta White GE8 Build
I need new rotors...or semi-used. Ahem Ahem
16x7 +42, I agree it should clear but I always like to anticipate a fix for any issues. I can always run a small spacer but I think it should be fine.
Ohhh if 16x7+42, zero issues. My front brakes utilize a 294mm rotor up from the stock 262mm and this is exactly the size I need to run to clear. I bought this size for my winter wheel (TR Type C or whatever they are called), but I do need to use a spacer for them only because the spokes are RIDICULOUSLY FAT!!! The TypeFs do not have fat spokes so you should have huge amounts of space for clearance. On the CEs, I have 8mm of clearance to the spokes. Haven't measured with the RZs yet.

Now one thing I just thought about is whether they clear the spare tire. I might need to buy a spacer and leave it in the car if not
Or just get the punc kit, that is how the Fits were released here in Japan. No spare tire, just a temporary fill kit. Less weight to lug around and lasts as long, unless of course your tire gets slashed versus just a puncture, punc kit not going to help at all.
I have seen that most new cars no longer have a spare and was curious to see what they use. I ended up getting a kit that combines an inflator and the sealant after doing some research. Will be nice to have that added weight removed
Definitely comes in handy to have the inflator in the car, most of the punctures I have ever had have been small nails which this kit would be fine for.
SEXY! I need some Lakewoods on mine lol jk. Must be nice Wais!
I will be upgrading brakes soon but unsure what is needed for daily with a little bit of mountain runs here and there.
Waiting to hear your feedback on the new brake setup!
A good pad and tires that will let the pad do its job. In reality, that is all that is really needed. For almost 5 years I beat on mine with the stock calipers, used PMu HC+ pads and Dixcel rotors all around and I never felt as though braking was bad, never had fade or wished I had more braking prowess. I've only had the new brakes out once on Suzuka and I need to recalibrate my braking because it is so improved. They now scrub so much speed so quickly that it was detrimental more than helpful, so if you're just doing some mountain passes, save your money on the new calipers and put that towards proper rubber and pads that like to bite down hard.
