FS Function & Form Type II --used
So how exactly did you break the top of the shock? You were torquing it down during install? It doesn't speak well about quality in my mind that it broke at all. I don't see how you should be torquing even close to hard enough to shear it apart like that, so were you torquing way too hard or just turning normal? Were the threads screwed up and that's what did it??
The threads were fine. Completely normal. As you can see, if you look closely enough, there are still a little thread left. When I was torquing it, it was only beginning to get tight when it snapped. I didn't angle my wrench when I was tightening it, nor was I torquing too hard. But I did tighten it pretty fast. Everything was all tightened by hand. About the quality, I'd say its fair. Its not horrible. Its not awesome. Its fair. Why it broke off? Beats me. Maybe I just got a bad one. Or maybe I did something wrong. Which I doubt. But all I know the next person to own these coilovers can learn from my mistake. Take your time.
