FS: DIY GE8 Intake - Spectre & K&N Parts *NO CEL!!*
!Sold!
Selling my DIY intake. Had it on for a few thousand miles, no problems. The kit consists of a 2.5" to 3" right angle 4-ply silicone coupler hose, a 3" Spectre MAF adapter tube w/ mounting plate, K&N round air filter (uber clean), Spectre small breather filter (for your crank case vent), and a "custom" (
) pipe clamp that I used to support the intake from the stock air box mount.
Now how I managed to eliminate getting a check engine light FOR GOOD...I just sawed the MAF tube from the stock air box until it was just the right length and width to fit inside the Spectre MAF adapter tube. Works just great, doesn't move around, and most importantly NO CEL! I know it's not the prettiest job but I assure you it does the trick. Also for the crank case vent, you could always just put a hole in the side of the silicone hose and run your vent hose straight to it using a pipe fitting. That would eliminate the breather filter and also increase your intake efficiency ever so slightly. I would also recommend fabricating some sort of heat shield for the intake to keep that heat soak down.
If you don't like the placement of the intake, I also have just a straight HPS 2.5" to 3" 4-ply silicone hose I could include as well as/in place of the right angle coupler. I've tried it both ways and there is room behind the ecu for this intake. It will work either way.
Asking $65 shipped anywhere in the lower 48. Sorry for the dirty engine bay pictures, but once I removed the intake I cleaned it all up.
