Hi, I realize it's sold, but if I could bother you with a question. I'm a new Fit 2009 owner and don't understand what those extended panels with the snaps are on the cargo cover. Either the pictures I've seen on line are different or there are different models of cargo covers? I've had my FIT for about 2 weeks and am loving both it and this forum. TIA

The extended panels are there to supposedly take up the space between the end of the cargo cover and the seat back. Which is really all of a few inches.
I never installed the snaps - I didn't like drilling into the back of the seats, and I didn't want these little snaps sticking up when the seat was down, and getting in the way when I was sliding things into the cargo area.
Thankfully you can take off the flappy panel, you just undo the pins that attach it to the hard panel of the cargo cover.
And the easiest way to get rid of that few inch gap? Recline your seat back! It then only has a gap of maybe 1/4 inch, and my rear seat passengers never complained that the seat was too far reclined, some couldn't even tell the difference!
Good luck with your Fit, it's a fantastic little car!

yeah, I did the same thing
I hate drilling holes in my back seat
I just leave the gap in between and use it as is
but I never notice you can recline the back seats to close up the gap...
thanks
actually I am buying this for my friend
I have one already.

Thanks for the info. I considered trying to DIY one but am sure I'll never be satisfied until I get a "real" one. I really love the car.

I have the same feeling too, just can't tell you how much I love the FIT.
not to say, the instrument panel is so nice.
got lots of room, head room leg room everywhere
also, the storage area is nicely design
many cup holders
the back seats are very easy to fold up/down and use for extra storage
the exterior aerodynamic look is cool.
the best thing is save gas.
the price is good
