mainly the price and that they are rebuildable. mine are set up for street neg 1 deg camber. rear set to 22 clicks hard front is 11 clicks hard. still rides really nice. also d2 has made improvments from the previous versions. ISO and TUV certified.

you send them in for a rebuild at d2 or shock specialist. there is a series of washers and seals in the strut. also the fluid will be replaces or gas.

If you are looking for good ride quality, i would say tein basics would be the best bang for the buck, according to a tein tech, they normally adjust spring rates based on stock rates and increasing them to match lower ride height requirements...

sorry to be bringing up this year old tread but, I'm looking for some coilovers and I'm new to these kind of brand names etc. I've been looking at T1r B-Max or Buddy Club but not sure if either ones are better in all types of quality etc. I looked at some D2's but I have a feeling that I just won't be satisfied with it. I'm looking for a racy type stiff ride since I plan to go to the track more often. any thoughts?

whats your reason for eventually getting coilovers?
right now i am thinking of buying springs or coilover
want them to ride at least as good as a stock GE8 rides

Skunk2 pro c are not bad at all, but their springs are! In fact, most springs that come with adjustable coilovers are garbage. Im in the processes of geting swift springs for my pro C's. If you can get the same results without using adjustable coilovers, I say go for it. Nothing wrong with a good strut and a good spring like GC sleeves(eibach springs).

Personal preference, if you can get swift, hypercoil, eibach, or bilstein springs, go for it.

Just realized you have GE. I apologize, I'm not saying get pro C's that don't exist for your car. The rest of my info is helpful for you though.

I have Tein Super Streets and they are wonderful. I have them set at 8 clicks from full soft and it is a great DD set up. I had them on full soft at 2 in lower than stock, and the ride is soft enough to have my whole family (wife and 3 kids) fall asleep on a long trip.

I have previously had Ksports (similar to D2's and others), and the valving and springrate are only for the most hard core DD's. WAY too stiff for me.

Highly recomment Tein.

Bilstein are reviewed very well among the BMW and Audi forums. Plus they have a lifetime guarantee. I don't know of any other company who offers that on a set of coilovers.
