It just dawned on me that I need to replace the master cylinder on our 95 GMC pickup... At least I won't have to raise the thing up to get under it to bleed the lines..

I'm a big fan of the EBC Green Stuffs for street use. Had them on my last car (VW) and loved them. Also had them on a CRX, worked great for autocross, tried tracking them and smoked them (on a very brake intensive track). I then tried the Redstuff for the track and worked great.

However, I LOVED the HP+ on my Integra, great bite once warm, felt like I could stop on a dime, however they did squeak occasionally, the wheels were never clean and they were slightly more expensive.

Don't do it. Went from HP+ to HPS. HP+ lasted me about 7500 miles. STOPPED LIKE HELL, but the melted rotor fragments embedded themselves in my track wheels. Still haven't got 'em all out. Initial bite on the HPS leaves something to be desired, but for a street pad i can't complain.

P.S.- HP+ makes a light show at night. Sparks are cool, but they're harmful. Also, the rotor debris from hard stops cut thru the dust boots on my caliper pistons.

Are you stepping as hard as possible on the brakes at every stop sign? I used the HP+ for 3k miles and the PO used them for 3 years prior to that (aka 20k miles), and there was still some meat left when I sold the car.

Actually no, and alot of my mileage is highway commute. I had about 4 autox events on that set. I think the major problem was the slotted rotors i had. They chewed away at those pads like a jonesin' pac-man.

I'm looking forward to trying the EBCs once the HPS die. Or maybe i'll try the HPD pads, but i'm not sure yet.

Can we remember the last one of those? We need bench seats to make a come back. It sure made those long drives interesting.

That's about where we are: 42K, but same story...pads look fine. Rotors look like someone took a blowtorch and a sledge hammer to them.

Lots of aggressive mountain driving is the primary culprit.

I've got the exact opposite story on our fit. 56k, pads are down to 5mm from backplate (~3mm of usable pad left) yet the rotors are still 21.1mm thick (max spec).
