Well the set up is done.

Everything works great. Ran into a little problem with the hard wear (the little metal parts that the sit between the pads and caliper) for the caliper, so my friend modified the old ones off the stock calipers I'll be putting the correct hard wear on tomorrow.

With the new wheels and tires the car was already stopping great. After I bedded the pads and give the car a test drive, my friend said it feels like the car wants to do an endo. A little over the top but they did improve. Next on my list are some new brake line.

My new rotors and pads should be in this week, all for around $150 delivered.

R1 Concepts (Eline Cross-Drilled & Slotted Rotors)

Greenstuff Brake Pads 2000 Series

I'm at 52k miles on the stock brakes, but have been living with warped rotors for the past 7 months. Can't take it anymore. Even my 6yr old daughter asked me why my car "goes back-n-forth" when I stop!

LOL looks like a great set-up, could of save your self some money with some Hawk pads from pep boys unless you don't have one in your area.

Thumbs up

Matt, that looks like the real deal, bet you can't wait to put it to the ultimate test.....226 more days!

I love those wheels, they look like Weapons, the wheel I'm getting for the CR-Z. Almost bought a used set of MS6 wheels from Hectour but they're just too heavy (38 lbs vs. 43.5...stock combo is 36 lbs)

So here's the question, when do we see the pics of the same set up but with pink calipers for the wife's ride

Lol I dont think she will be going the same route as me on the brakes, plus as much as we like having the same car we're trying to be different as we can. But she will be upgrading her pads and rotors before October

In a car that weighs 2500lbs and can't hit 120mph stock, do you really want all that extra unsprung, rotating mass? You definitely don't need it.

Or is this about looks to you?

Just curious, not flaming.

I understand, the looks did come into play and I did think about the extra weight. I have been planning on some type of f/I down the road, other then already having the parts I dont have an answer. But now ge8 have can upgrade to these or type r calipers.

So the Mini's rotors work, don't they have a 64mm center diameter and the Fit's have a 61mm center diameter. Not a huge difference, but they are solely relying on the studs for support. It's like using wheels without hubcentric rings, sure it works, but there is a reason for mating the center bore exactly between the pieces.

Regardless glad it is working out for you. Years ago, I sent my friend NS-X brakes for his EM1 Si and the package ended up being something like 82lbs. Hopefully the Legend parts are not as heavy or that is indeed a lot of unsprung weight added. Though that package included the NS-X rotors which are much larger in diameter and thickness. That iron adds up quickly.

Yea the Mini rotors (rotor size 280mm) work for the center diameter, but where the Stud go through are a little big so the rotors has some play. It doesn't effects my braking or at lease I don't think so, I'm plan on making a hold for a set screw in the next week or two. But I do love how the car stops can't wait to get some money together for SS and new brake fluid, then maybe some rear disk cause I really hate working on drums.

OP: Did you use Fastbrakes and were happy with them?

I'm going to use them for my RSX-S rear disc conversion.

?? If your asking about my legend up grade, no I didn't. If your asking about the 5 lug converting your going to have talk to change about that.

Hello,

I don't think the extra play because the stud is a bit smaller then the hole will matter much because it won't effect the balance of the wheel if all of the parts are hub-centric,

but

I think the differences in hub size of the mini rotor (64mm) and our Honda (61mm) size matter more,... 3mm total diameter (or 1.5mm in radius is a lot of play)

I just doing research on doing some Wilwood conversion using Wilwood Hat intended for Mini Copper, and I also had done measurement on our stock Honda hub, and from what I read,
to make it as center and as balance as possible, a custom machine hub-centric ring is necessary...

if you see the T1R rear brake conversion for GD, they include a hub-centric ring for this purpose.

I understand that you never put any hub-centric ring for your rotor in your application,
my question is:

Do you ever feel any vibration while driving at high speed or while braking?

In the future I might need to machine this hub-centric ring and I found there are many place who make hub-centric ring for wheel should be able to custom made a hub-centric ring for rotor too and it should be cheap too.

I have two link on one the 1st page to o'brien auto web site which give both rotor specs, As to vibration no I don't only when I brake super hard I feel just the ABS, also I instilled ITR calipers with the Mini rotors on my friend's car (also a Fit) and he hasn't said anything about that. I'm looking for something lighter like the NSX cailpers or maybe some wilwoods.
