I'd agree Fortune > D2 by a long way, just not something I'd buy for my car.

The Fit will get some Tein springs, as I view lowering springs as a solely aesthetic exercise, with no real gains.

Once I get a project S14, that will likely get something from Koni's Race line, as I've always liked their products.

lol, "probably", i have yet to pay for a set of wheels on either one of my Honda's within the last 3 years. I can afford most sets of "real wheels" but i choose not to, only because replicas do what i need them to do and no one gives a fuck if i have Rota's or if i have Advans. So, because of all this, your arguments are invalid.

See, I personally dislike Tein. I have had terrible experiences with their Coilovers and I think their springs ride quite badly. That being said, like you said you want more aesthetic than anything and it is my opinion not yours, haha.

Koni does make nice stuff in my experience as well. I had their race line on my MR2 and was quite a fan.

i got a buddy with Tein's on his S2000 and he loves them, it's a little bit stiffer of a ride but i'm not even sure what springs he's running with them (7k maybe?). I'm running KSports on my Civic and i have no complaints, but this is a different car and i'm not sure how they'd hold up on a Fit.

I'm not a Tein fan at all either haha.

To clarify, I view all lowering springs as quite worthless in every aspect outside of aesthetics (and even on that front they are not ideal). Being my daily, I wanted to keep some semblance of ride quality and not invest too much. On both of these fronts, Tein springs were a decent compromise and paying $100 for a set isn't too bad either.

That and I had S-Techs on my Galant, and it rode just like stock, even on the upsized wheels.

Do want @ the MR2 sussy.

Here's why I hate cheap coilovers:

I had J's Racing N1 coilovers by Crux, 16k/14k spring rates, and the shocks most likely on their last legs (I was going to send them out to be rebuilt but I sold the car). Yet, they still rode WORLD's better than the new Omni Power 12/10k c/o's on my Integra.

same here, this Fit is our DD until i sell my Civic and i can get my is300. So being that it's our DD i'm just going with lowering springs instead of adjustables, probably gonna go with Tokico struts with Swift springs. That's all i need to drive around here, anything more is just overkill.

eh, it's either Swifts, H&R or Eibach Sportlines (didnt like the Eibachs the last time). Swifts are great springs and are still $30-$40 cheaper than Tein and Tanabe. I'm gonna look more into the Skunk2's because they're under $200.

Don't get Skunk2 man, just don't.

I've heard they're bouncy. If Swifts are cheapest, there's nothing that could hold me back from getting them

well then Swifts are what i'm gonna get, i only wanted to check out Skunk2 just because i have used them on one of my Honda's a few years back and they were pretty good from what i can remember. $250 isn't TOO bad when it comes to the fact that i'll only be upgrading small stuff on this car until i decide to kswap (if ever, more likely than not). So if it's just $250 here and $100 there on a few things, i can't complain.

I agree here as well. I have rode in a few cars with Skunk2 stuff and never been too impressed.

Like Mike said, if Swifts are in your budget don't hesitate. They are a GREAT spring.

Also Mike, I hear you. I am saving for J's Racing coils, but it will be a while haha.

well what other >$200 springs are reputable? I try to shy away from cheap springs if i can, i don't wanna make the car handle like shit especially with how bad our roads can be.

lulz. You'll LOVE them.

16k/14k was excellent. I got air. Many times.

Wow hope the ride isn't too stiff with 7k springs. Most guys who Autocross or track tend to go 10k/12k minimum, a lot go 12k/12k. I have rode in a couple 12k/12k cars with no real complaints on harshness.

All subjective though, some people have more tolerance on NVH.

I am not even sure what rates are available for the GD right now. Figured I would worry about it when the time got closer. I couldn't help, but notice the rates are VERY low for most coilovers offered for the GD right now.
I mean like, 4k/3.5k

Yeah it is pretty crazy. I'm not sure why, if you're getting c/o's you generally either intend on insane low or aggressive driving, both of which require high rates.

actually our conversation was pretty relevant for the most part, if you want budget suspension that will slam you to the ground we discussed it. If you want better ride quality that will lower you and still let you drive safe, we discussed that as well.
