unOfficial Q & A for aggressive fitment
unOfficial Q & A for aggressive fitment
**First off, I have a GE, as of right now, all references are towards a GE - If someone w/ GD in Norcal wants to meet up, I'd be happy to take measurements and put them here too. For the most part, all the stuff I'll be going over is pretty general - but specific measuremets and references and for specific vehicles.
I'm here to help any and everyone with aggressive fitment. Whether it be your Honda GD, GE, your civic, your wrx, your bimmer, your moms van... Whatever.. Aggressive fitment isn't rocket science. There's math involved, but you don't need to work for NASA.
The most important things one needs to realize is that:
1. Everyone's opinion of aggressive wheel fitment is subjective. Go with what YOU like. If you want it so that you're a couple MM behind the fender, almost flushed, but tucking - do that. If you like flush - do that. If you like poke, stretch, camber, roll/pull - do that. It's your car...do what YOU want.
2. Even with a roll, stretch, pull, camber, etc. You might still rub. Actually, you'll rub until you've 100% nailed the fitment. Even then, you might still rub.
3. Don't expect to bolt the wheels and tires on and go. If, at a minimum, you can't/wont/dont want to roll the fenders, it's not for you. MOVE ON.
4 Aggressive fitment is work and time. If you don't have either, pay someone or MOVE ON.
5. Remember, you might rub.
6. Don't rush on anything. Make sure you double checked your measurements and math. Don't just buy wheels because they are low offset. Dont half ass or mickey mouse anything. You'll save yourself from headaches, and it'll look better.
7. Have fun!
8. Did I mention you might rub?
I'll go into more details of fitment later - I have to run to a dinner. For the time being check this out.

....Some teasers and GE wheel fitment I promised.

The tires are pretty big. I got em like that. I think I'm going to run 215/35s - Possibly some 205s but I have order them from Japan. To be honest, I think I can get the 225/40s to work, but I'm being lazy. There's maybe 4-5 MM between the fender as it sits now (already rolled, very very slight pull). If I give it some more pull, and get rid of the tab holding the fender to the bumper, should be fairly easy...or If I get some camber bolts and add a couple degrees should be fine.
Here's to the people who say 225 are too big.

Personally, I don't like big tires. But hopefully the pictures below will help some of you out.
These are 18x7.5 +40mm 225/40/18. They are several MM away from being flush. What's awesome is that based of this fitment, my initial measurements for BAD ASS fitment were correct....
...so to anyone who's going air and/or wants specs for custom orders....
For perfect specs (**My opinion**), the below fitment will sit just a bit outside the fender. Personally I dont like flush, I like just a bit of poke. Don't expect a "walk in the park fitment" with these numbers, but if you want it how I like it then here you go.
__ X 8 +30 standard disk
__ x 9 +30 low disk
**For the rear wheels, if you're going to go outside of those specs, you'll have to be careful with the offset and allignment specs you choose. There's not a lot of inner clearance, and you'll hit the strut before you know it...if that happens, you'll try a spacer, but that will only have you hit the quarter panels, then you'll try to camber with a shim or something, then end up hitting the strut again.. It's pretty tricky in the back. HTH***
So there's to all you @$$holes that dont give out your specs because its a "secret offset". bullshit. ANYONE can figure out offsets. I F*&%ing HATE people that say offsets are private and all that non sense. I hope those specific people from other forums read this. If you're one of them, jump off a bridge and die. People like me, who are here to actually help people, clean up your rambling all the time.
Anyways on to the pics. Sorry for the negativity. With that being said, if you need help with wheel fitment, just ask me.

On a side note. 18's are AWESOME on the new fit. 16s were waaay to small imo. The car is big (like the scion xb) and 18s work out awesome. I think you could get away with 17s if they were really aggressive.. then again, if you're tracking, 16"s are where it's at.

Tell me the specs now, what you're trying to accomplish, and do my best to help.
Do you have aftermarket wheels on your GD? When are you located and what's your schedule?
I'm OE ATM (LS Mesh, if the trade works out). As for the moment, I should be free on the afternoon of 25th, if everything goes to plan. If not OCT 4 around afternoon.
i think its at 50 offset if not 55 but im pretty sure its 50. and the rim is 15x7 as it stand right now.
and i just wanna have a nice amount of lip to have that deep dish look and im going to be dropped on skunk2 pro c soon. figuring a stretched 195/50 tire will do right.

Daniel do you have any luck with what you are going to do with the front fender tab to be able to stop the rubbing? I have pulled my fenders and I don't know what I am going to do to pull the bumper out to stop the rubbing. There needs to be a way to connect the bumper and the fender while pulling them outward

See above for x7.5 +40

Post in here with specs and what you did, and I'll add it to the top posts. Can't wait to see it man.
