Put some wheels and tires on my GE. 205/60/15

Wheels: Drag DR-23, 15x6.5
Tires: Goodyear Eagle GT, 205/60/15
Springs: Eibach Pro-Kit, 1.2" F / 1.4" R

The difference in grip is tremendous. The car comes stock with 175/75/15s on 15/5.5" wheels. The extra 30mm of (stickier) rubber grips relentlessly, and the springs cut down on the car's ample body roll. There's almost too much tire for the car, I can barely get the ABS to kick in :P

Excuse the crappy pics, I was losing light...

Question

First off I like your avatar, Rush "Signals", very cool Because your car is lowered though I wonder why you went with such a thick sidewall profile tire?

BTW, nice choice of rims

It was a combination of a few factors... i wanted 15s, so I had to get a pretty big tire in any case. Technically the correct size would have been a 205/55 (rather than 60 series) but the 60s were about 40% cheaper

I was about to say the tires were too tall...until I realized they were 15s.

Nice job, good to know they're paying off well!

Looks good! It's nice to have enough sidewall that every pothole doesn't send your pulse racing

No tint at all, I had to edit the pics a bit because they were too dark, that's probably why the windows look so blue.

You might find a way to check the difference between how fast you are going and the speedometer reading.... The way it looks is amazing.... I really like it a lot, when others see it some may copy the your look.

It throws off the speedometer by about 2%, which isn't too bad. According to my GPS it was reading a bit slow with the stock tires, so it's probably spot-on now :P

15" wheels have looked good on every GE I have seen with them.... The tall wheel thing isn't all it is cracked up to be..and the lower bias ratio tires either.

The taller tire is the way to go IMO if your not planning on lowering the car because it fills the wheelwell in for one, gives you a better/safer ride if you live where the roads aren't the best two and three, like your said earlier, its cheaper.

Thumbs up rubb'n 4 me = airshocks 4 the GD3

Hey Axe have any rubbing? The 4th shot looks like the tire is very close to the fender, I got spacers on mine and the taller tire was too much so I'm putting a set of airshocks on. But I like the way the tires are pushed out of the wheel wells w/ the spacer & wouldn't change that The A.S. will provide alot more payload in the back, never could put too much weight back there B4.
UR GE looks great with the tire/wheel setup, take care

It does rub a little bit in the front, mostly when turning + braking simultaneously. I pulled the fenders (by hand) about 1/2" which seems to have fixed it. Good thing I didn't get 15 x 7s like I had originally planned
