Question Help me decide on wheels....please!

I will present the 2 wheels I've decided upon and an explanation as to why I would like them on my car. The first wheel is the new Konig Forward, matte gray with an orange stripe. I think this wheel has a "Mugen-look" to it for one, plus it looks good and finally, how many wheels have an orange stripe on them nowadays I wanna paint my calipers too, but could I get away with red or would I have to go silver? Also, could I get my custom red H's done for the centercaps and have them domed in clear acrylic and have it all work together with the colors going on here?

Konig Forward

The next wheel is also from Konig, called the Zero-In. This wheel has a unique matte silver finish on the face, black inserts and an under lying red stripe. This would match my cars theme of red H's, the red dots for the "I"'s in I-VTEC on the sides and boot, as well as the dot for my JAZZ decal on the boot as well. My red H's for the centercaps would natrually fit in as well as red caliper paint, what do you think of these?

Konig Zero-In

I'm planning on getting Swift sport springs which are supposed to lower the rear about an inch and the front 1.3", is this true? I aslo think I'm sticking with 16" wheels too, no real need for 17's, right? The wheels are 16 x 7 and have the infamous 40mm offset, but the 17's have a 45mm offset, a bit better but more heavy too. My tires will be the new Conti DWS as I need something that will perform their duties all year round and from what I've been reading about them, these tires kick ass! I like the smooth side wall, the tread pattern and the treadwear number of 540.

All of your input and comments are greatly appreciated

BTW, as my sig says, my car is Orange Revolution BTW.

I'd go with the forward, b/c i don't like mixing colors that don't match, like red and orange. Some people do, though. You should find Perrenoud's fit on here, he added an orange stripe to his stock wheels and has red "H" center caps.

I saw what he did to his factory sport wheels and it looks good. My buddy agreed with you, get the Forwards

from a cosmetic standpoint, if you are getting swift springs and running a 16 inch wheel, your gap will still be somewhat large, almost stock-like. although the drop is close to 1-1.5 inches, it will partially depend on how tall your tires are that will reflect how "dropped" it looks. i was previously running 16's on falken 615 tires at 215/45 R16, also with the swift springs, and it barely looked lowered.

if you don't care as much about how it looks, but rather how it performs, well then i'm very sure that you won't rub at all and won't have any problems with bumps and stuff on the road. it will still be a very comfortable ride at all speeds.

Thanks for the comments Skinny, its something I've been thinking about too. I do want the car to look lowered though and as far as tires go, if I end up with the 16's which I think I am due to the unneeded and unwanted weight, then I'm going to be running the 205 or 215 50's and running the new Conti DWS'.

Anyone, if you wanna chime in here and you either now for sure and/or have had something similar, please chime in, its greatly appreciated.

BTW, should I maybe go with H&R sport springs instead

Just go with whatever tires are closest to the same diameter as the oem set-up

that will keep your speedo/odometer accurate

As for the wheels, I wouldn't do either simply because they are probably heavy...Heavy wheels = bad fuel economy/worsened performance

btw check out the link in my sig

Thanks for the offer Gabby, but my choices are the two there, although I wish I could get a price and availability of the new Rota Blitz

My vote goes to the Zero-Ins. I have an affection for wheels with undercut stripes - until recently I haven't seen much of those for FWD applications like ours.

Its going to be the Konig Forward that I have posted in the first post and as far as the centercaps go, I'll be going with acrylic domed custom decals that will simply have a black background with HONDA in correct font and using silver vinyl as I don't want it to be too blingy with chrome

My current tires have about 9800 miles on them, so I'll find something to do with them and the wheels will be for sale but for local pick up only. They'll be on craigs list soon enough

Sorry, no snow yet everyone, but when it does, I'll let you guys know about these tires for sure

There are supposed to be vids on Tire Rack testing these tires on powerful, RWD cars and they couldn't get over how good they are, so I expect them to REALLY do well on a 117+hp/109+ ft/lbs torque Honda Fit
