as you can tell, the stock dunlops were ready to go.

intiial impressions so far- bit more bumpy, yet more cushy,
handling- can't tell yet, since i'm letting the rubber break in.

But i like it already.

size 205 50 16.

jesus christ thats alot. Yeah i was looking round for a set of conti dw and discount tires had some of highest prices for mounting and balancing.

i only opted for the DWS because i couldnt find a set of DW on top of that the DWS had a much higher treadwear rating which is nice considering i drive ~120 miles a day.

once again, im hatin hard... and make sure you give us some feedback on how the contis ride and handle.

I dont know where else would have it cheaper...

tire rack already sells it for 460... ship is $50, puts you @ 510, then mount and balance, disposal fee+ whatever labor fee is charged...

I see it around the same price online or B&M.

the true benefit of buying B&M is the free road hazard and balance/rotation.

Thumbs up

Congrats on the new DW Conti's, the wearbar on your old tires looked like a bridge As far as the price goes, remember this, quality doesn't cost, it pays! With tires you get what you pay for, go cheap and they're usually loud, wear out faster (even with the same treadwear number), aren't built as good and most importantly, DO NOT PERFORM WHEN YOU NEED IT THE MOST!

I too like the DW Conti's but went with the DWS for a couple reasons, number one I live in Chicago and with winter, I need somethng that can go through everythng, plus I drive back home to Detroit alot to visit family and friends, so I put alot of miles on my car/tires. Right now I've got 12k on my tires and got them back in the summer, so you can understand my needs.

We had a guy with us last year on the Dragon with the Conti DW tires on his 350Z and he couldn't get over how good they were. I'm really glad I've made the switch from BFG to Conti

How do you folks like the Conti DWS's? We just ordered a set of the DWS's in 205/50-16 based on the TireRack reviews.

I responded to you in my thread about the DWS above but I can't say enough about Continental, my new favorite tire company for sure!

Question (which I'm sure is answered somewhere in this forum but I don't find it easily) -
1) does 205/50-16 fit on standard 2009 Fit Sport wheels ?
2) does it affect your speedometer ... enough to "matter" ?

Search is your friend. It's been covered a lot in here. Or, if you can't find it, please start a new topic instead of dragging an existing one off-topic. It keeps everything neater instead of spreading the information around.

1. The answer is above in this thread.
2. Not at all.

They DO "Fit" for sure and are only about .4" of inch taller than stock, so your speedo isn't going to be off and if so, not by enough to worry about. This is the tire size Honda recommends when buying their "factory aftermarket" rims, so its all good.

Search is fine for some people but sometimes, you just throw out a question to get an answer, well, here it is

another update:

some light spirited up the hill driving, these tires warm up FAST.

I might doubt a day's worth of autocross if these tires warm up so quickly...Right now, I can only wonder how long they can retain grip for. *Shrugs*

Must be nice to have curvy roads to test those new shoes on, we don't have too many around here, only a 1.5 mile strip called Bluff Rd

The local Honda dealer was kind enough to allow me to trade the stock Dunlops for the 205/50/16 Extreme DW upon purchase of a new Fit Sport 5sp. I run them at 51 lbs. Great tire rain or shine.

BTW, I am loving this car except that the manual badly needs a sixth gear. I am hoping that the Fit Hybrid will incorporate the manual tranny from the CR-Z.

Contis are great tires. The DW's and DWS's along with the SportContacts have shown to be good tires. I work for a highline car dealer and our cars come with all kinds of OE tires, but for replacements I usually only quote Contis or Dunlops. Michelins and Pirellis are almost always 40% more expensive and they usually don't wear as well.

A lot of our customers have swapped from Pirelli P6's and Goodyear LS-2's to the Conti Extreme Contact DWS as they make for great warm-weather tires and they can handle snow and rain very well.
