205/50 Rear 185/55 front ok?

I need some rear tires really bad, and have already done a rotation. The front tires are good, but can i get away with only upgrading the rear tires to a larger size? Im going wider more for looks, and ride quality of course.

This WOULD be temporary, until i change the front tires for the larger size down the road.

It would work but..... the handling could be a bit weird. And if you don't replace the fronts within 5K miles you either can't rotate them for even wear, or the 205's on the front and the 195's on the rear when you do rotate them might look goofy and I wouldn't do any spirited driving. Not saying the setup won't work but you're money ahead to replace all 4 at once. Temporary situations have a way of slipping past the intended deadline..... "If.... "If's and But's were candy and nuts what a Merry Christmas this would be".... My 2cents worth!
