15x7 +36 6UL wheel for my GE8

I've done a lot of research and I really like this wheel for my 2012 Sport.
I'm lowered on Swifts and plan to run either a 195/50 or 205/50 tire.

I know 15's are not that popular on the GE but I like the look myself.I'm aware of the semi aggressive offset compared to stock +53 but I think I will be ok with the mild drop on Swifts.

If anyone has experience with this exact combo on a GE 15x7 +36 with 195/50 or 205/50 and springs like Swifts or Progress chime in and let me no if you had any rubbing without fender mods.

thanks in advance

Go 15x7.5 so you are at the maximum Street Touring FWD wheel width if you ever end up running at a local SCCA AutoX event You can still run a 195-50R15 on a 7.5, I do.

Here is a good resource for comparing any wheel and tire combos you may want to run: Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com

@TPC thanks for the good info I will keep this in mind when I order my wheels.
The main reason I'm being conservative is my concern of rubbing.

is there much stretch with a 195 on a 15x7.5 wheel ? I do have the option of sizes 7,7.5,and even 8 but I will choose between 7 or 7.5

I love the look of 205/50/15 on 15x7 but I will stick with 195's if it will not rub given the +36 offset

no track plans as of now but that could change down the road

NP! Happy to help and pool resources

Honestly it depends on your 195.

For example in the following pic the first one is a 205/50-15 Dunlops Z II on 6.5 wheel vs 195/50-15 Toyo R1R's on 7.5, vs 205/50-15 Dunlops Z II II on 7.5...

I LOVE my Toyo's But they are a soft competition tire and get eaten up a bit if you were to daily them.

you're the man!!! I may just go with the 15x7.5/195-50-15 combo
I'll run a sticky summer tire but not to soft of a compound as this is my DD

I knew you would have the answer to all my ?

HA! I wouldn't give me that much credit, but I'm glad my vast array of mostly useless and obscure wheel and tire size knowledge helps you

Post some pictures when you get the wheels. The 15x7.5 are only 11.6lbs and the offset is 42.

15x7.5
+42 offset
11.5 lbs
4x100
Low pressure cast monoblock construction
T6 heat treated
67.1mm center bore
Double valve design
JWL approved
Silver painted, durable clear coated finish
Cap included
Valves not included
Fits 195/50 , 205/50 , 215/45 , 225/45 , 225/50 tires
Brian's Application Notes: This is the wheel all the FAST ST and STS class autocross competitors will be running this year....can't beat the price or low weight. For STS most will mount with 205/50/15 Dunlop Star Spec (which we don't carry) or 205/50/15 or 225/45/15 Toyo R1R (which we do carry). Does NOT fit our big brake kits but does fit FACTORY SPORT Brakes.

My 195 Azenis stretched a little on 7.5"... that was 60 sidewall tho haha

I'm in for pictures of these 15" 6ULs on GE. I mainly want to see what ends up having to be modded on fenders. Would run with 195/55 w/ swifts or there's going to be a ton of wheel gap, unless you don't mind it.

I'm running 15x7" +25 Kosei K1's with 205/50/15, lowered on Eibach Pro Kit springs on my GE8. No rubbing issues at any time on any type of road surface.

I run this wheel on my gd3. Its 15x8 with 225 45 15. Running hankook rs3 now but will be getting nt01. And when the nt01 wear out ill be getting hoosiers r6.

In a year when the car is all ready for honda challenge ill be running the toyo ra1.

This is a good wheel. Just make sure u check the torque of the lug nuts for the first little bit. I almost lost a wheel at chuckwalla. Good thing for extended studs.

Man this is the place for great feedback!!!
I was so focused on the 15x7 +36 that I never even considered the 7.5 or wider 8

I think the 15x7.5 will be the ticket with the better for me +42 offset and I can still choose between a 195/50 or 205 tire.

I know I will have some major gap with my Swifts but I'm ok with that and I could always go with coils if I want to get lower.

I see the hot set up with the miata guys is the combo mentioned above 15x8 with 225/45/15 but thats for the track

It's going to be a while before I can get my wheels (broke as a joke) but at least I have finally found a wheel that I really like at a great price

15x7 $129/15x7.5 $149 you cant beat that price for a light wheel
I'll be sure to post pics and related info when I get my wheels.

Thanks for the great input from everyone

Those are some really nice looking wheels.

Any issues with going down a size in wheel?

no problem going to a 15 and infact the B-spec Fit runs a 15 inch wheel on the GE's with 205 tire.

you can keep the diameter close by running a 195/55/15. also 15's are by far the most popular size for racing.

I just discovered this wheel but It's been around for a long time
a search will show it as far back as 2008 I think

just like the Mini wheels the Miata shares the same 4x100 as our car so there are plenty of options.

This wheel comes in nickel(pictured) Bronze,Black,Silver

You'll want to run the BFG Rival.

From what I'm hearing...its a lot faster than the ZII, wears slower than the RS3/R1R and feels better than all of them.

The BFG is indeed the newest hotness. It has a tread wear rating of 200 and is being vouched for as a FAST tire on multiple platforms.

I'm waiting till the new 225 45R15's start shipping in April

If you want to read DETAILED info and feed back from some top drivers, check this out https://www.facebook.com/notes/holli...09412972476008

The ZII seems to be a tire that requires very precise driving and doesn't give a ton of positive feed back to the driver (little to no tire squeal, even if pressed past its limits.)

Looking at getting back into an EF? Or are you thinking EG? I was cracking up my AutoX buddies because a fully prepared, nationally competitive Street Touring 89-91 Si hatch can be bought for less than $7K... And I would rather have an EF for my daily and keep developing my slower Fit

This is why racing is so important for development of tires that we can run on the street.I like what I'm hearing about the BFG Rival and looks like there are others coming down the pike.

I dont plan on tracking my car more then once or twice a year if that and I like the idea of being able to drive to and from the track with out needing to swap wheels/tires.

It I ever get serious about racing I will get a set of those TR Motorsport 15x7 wheels and wrap them with some Hoosiers or another dedicated race tire.

Good plan. Even for AutoX I have a second set of wheels and tires

Mostly thats because the current fast tire for our light FWD cars is a super soft 140TW Toyo that would heat cycle out on freeway use

Although there is nothing wrong with those TRM's, the 949's are only slightly more expensive for a stronger, lighter, dual valve wheel... That's why my budget will be going to the 6UL's later this year.
