Exclamation PSA: Tanabe Medallion does NOT fit 2018+ Fit Sport

Found out the hard way that the Tanabe Medallion cat-back exhaust does not fit the 2018+ Honda Fit Sport very well.
The rear diffuser presses up against the exhaust and shifts it out of alignment (see pictures)

In other news, anyone want a Tanabe Medallion exhaust?

Stock exhaust

Beautiful exhaust, I'm sad it doesn't fit well

For people wondering what the difference in the exhaust hangers are on the 2018+ models, you can see them here.

Dammit Honda! Didn't want to modify my bumper

How much are you looking to sell the exhaust for?

Sorry to hear! I just installed mine last week but it’s a 2019 LX. I think it should be noted that its the Sport stock muffler that is not compatible. The LX (maybe DX/EX trims too) do fit. Best of luck with the sale

Any pics of yours installed?
I'm thinking of modifying the rear diffuser to get mine to fit

For sure dude, I was thinking about it but was being lazy lol. Just snapped these:

FYI: there’s a small trim piece attached to the bumper (where the two expansion plastic screw things are) that is shaped to match the stock muffler. I removed it and reinserted the plastic things, they kind of touch the Tanabe but I don’t care too much since it’s not hot enough to melt and it’s not making any sounds. Lmk if you want any other angles.

Great pics!
Any way I could bother you for a pic of the exhaust hangers (the rubber pieces)
I think the mounting points are the same, I just need one rubber hanger from a 2018+ LX/EX/etc

Thanks again!

Sweet! thank you!
I think i can get the exhaust more centered if I use the LX/EX/etc drivers side rubber hanger.
Will order one and report back

Quick question,
Were the nuts welded to your original exhaust like this:

https://www.hondapartsnow.com/genuin...5-tf0-003.html This is the other hanger. Couldn’t get a better angle with the iPad

edit: to answer your question about the nuts. Yes they were, the only difference is the hanger and the actual exhaust lip.

heres the LX stock:

Does anyone have a link for me to buy this exhaust new? I just bought a 2016 Honda Fit ex and was looking for some aftermarket parts. Honestly having troubles find stuff for these cars. Guess there’s just not much on the market. Also links to any websites u guys would recommend for cool parts and such would be appreciated.

There is no exhaust made for the Sport rear bumper except the HKS. All others interfere with rear rear lip and exhaust cut-out.

PS: don't leave it rubbing your bumper. It will melt the rear bumper over time.

Except it isn't worth cutting your bumper for an exhaust that isn't meant for the car.

That's the other issue.... 🤷🏽‍♂️

Although it IS meant for the car, but not the bumper diffuser

It isn't meant for the US Sport for sure. The US spec Sport has it own rear bumper that isn't available anywhere else in the world. Hence why no exhaust except the HKS fits it properly. Yes there is a huge difference there.
