GE or CRZ exhaust on GK
Hello from Germany! Does anyone know if GE Fit or CRZ exhaust parts will fit plug and play on a GK? Over here there are no aftermarket exhaust parts available for the GK Fit.
Ordering Spoon or HKS exhaust from Japan or other countries will make no sense. Possibly you know why. In Germany almost every car modification has to be approved by our association for technical inspection called TÜV. For approval by TÜV we need special certificates from german organizations which tested the parts to guarantee their safety.
German certificates for exhausts made by Spoon, HKS, Tanabe etc do not exist. So these parts won't be approved by TÜV. The installation would be illegal and car insurance would expire immediately.
There are exhaust parts available with certificate for Fit GE and CRZ. Do you think it would be possible to install them on my GK Fit ?

There isn't a rule that states that even though a part is available with certificate on the original car that if it is installed on another make or model of vehicle, the certificate is void? It just seems like just because a part is tested as ok on one vehicle, it doesn't mean that it would be safe on another vehicle. Even if it is the same make and model of car but of a different year.

If you have certificate for aftermarket parts it is easier and cheaper to get approval by our association for technical inspection, even if the certificate of the part is for another car. For example it is possible to get approval for volkswagen golf rims on honda civic if there is certificate, even if the certificate is for volkswagen only. The inspection will cost some money but it is possible if everything is fine (clearance, no rubbing....). But of course for all modifications there are some special restrictions, too.
Without any certificate there is little chance to get approval too, but inspection is very very expensive.

To answer you question, I have not read of any part being plug-n-play. The intake and exhausts of the GK5 and GE are different than each other. I also have not read of any CRZ parts being plug-n-play on the GK5.
