3rd Gen GK Specific Fit Engine Modifications, Motor Swaps, ECU Tuning Sub-ForumThreads discussing engine mods/swaps/tuning for the third generation GK Honda Fit.
Agreed, everything on the Fit is a engineering marvel. The way they increased the length of the intake runners by doubling the manifold over the valve cover for example is pretty ingenious. I was thinking if that is in fact EGR, I could fashion a block-off plate of sorts so it would not melt the plastic manifold. We'll see...
All in all, she feels peppy now that I got the AFR back to normal and fixed whatetver was sucking oil into the intake. I will port the TB next, and then finally remove the "shark fin..." See ya'll around the track!
What did you do to clean up the tune? Changes to the tune using K tuner? I might do this with my fit
I did nothing. Ktuner said the tune would adjust on its own to the increased air. I purchased a tuning school set of videos, but there is limited support for my computer within the ktuner software. I could enrich or lean out the wot fuel map but it's fine right now. Cheers!
Gonna bring this topic back to life.... Has any GK owner fiddled around with the shark fin thingy comming from the EGR ..... ITS the only obstruction left on my set up ..... and im willing to block it if serves the purpose of removing it from the already small intake....

I cut mine off and it felt better immediately. I got a low egr code and you can tune that out on ktuner. I don't need mine. I can send it to you for $20 plus shipping already welded. The RZcrew intake comes with a block off so I'm using that now

also, my rzcrew intake will be for sale soon. I have ordered another one with the opening and bolt pattern for the s2000 ap2 throttle body. They're also custom making me a 2:1 header without EGR since I'm off road only now. Going to get a 2.5" mandrel bend straight pipe over the rear axle... no cat, no silencer, no muffler...

@Azuki I expect to be able to hang in the advanced class at HPDE events when she's all put together. I'm nervous about the shakedown runs with the caster camber plates, the limited slip differential, all the horsepower, aero, and bigger brakes and tires. It was already very respectable. It's going to be wicked... and yes, it did throw EGR code after the block off. It can be edited out in ktuner
Hey peeps fabricated two block off plates using the modded EGR spacer (as named on the honda parts pages) Z06FIT sent me as a mold...
These are rough cuts used for fitment... They worked likea charm... Obviously the low flow egr code came up but it was disabled through the KTuner, it feels running more loosely and more responsive... No dyno tune yet... Updates as soon as I can dyno it!

Dude you're always coming up with these really cool elegant solutions. Nice block off plates, no need to cut/weld. Super clean. Well done dude !
