hi all im new to this forum! just got my new 2015 honda fit two weeks ago (mystic yellow baby) and am trying to find a temporary roof rack system that i can use for my upcoming move to florida (from new york). i don't want to install anything permanent, and from the small bit of research ive tried doing it appears there is no official rails system for the 2015 model. most of the post ive browsed about modifying a previous models system were for individuals that are carrying kayaks or canoes or other much heavier items than i intend to carry

any advice on a system i can use? i dont even know what cargo box to buy. the last time i made a cross country move i used one of those nylon fabric ones that strap around the bag through the doors and ceiling of the car (not on a fit) and when it rained the straps leaked water all inside! freaking awful experience i never ever want to repeat

but i also dont want to buy something that's gonna unintentionally damage my new baby.

oh and this is unrelated but i dont want to make a new thread just for it, but does anyone know if its possible to pause the audio when connected to an ipod? the controls on the steering wheel and touch screen let you change track or change input or volume but nothing lets me simply pause a song. its quite annoying and im sure theres a simple answer i just haven't figured out yet

 

I believe the roof is not properly reinforced for a roof rack, and the people that put one on, they damaged their roof (I remember reading it somewhere).
So I wouldn't put any load on the roof at all. I would look into a trailer hitch/small trailer, as that has been done before.

And no, I don't think there is a way to pause. It is a exceptionally shitty interface.

 

Inno has an official rack for the 2015 Fit. I had it installed today. Posted the info at the mod forum below.
