Trailer Hitch Insert

Now that I have my hitch installed, I'm wondering what kind of insert people are using to go from the hitch to the trailer. My trailer is currently frozen into the snow, so I can't do a direct measurement. From what I've seen, I can get straight, dropped down, or raised.

Easy measurement, assuming our trailer is like mine and the tongue is on the same plane as the frame.... Just measure from the ground to the top of the frame rails. If you purchased the trailer from someone with web info, they may post the loading height.

Now measure to the hitch... The difference is how much rise or drop you need, assuming you want your trailer to ride level.

I think you know all this, I'm just giving a way for you to buy what you need and not have to go out in the drive, break it free from the snow, hold things up, etc....

My ball mount had to go UP, but that doesn't mean much based on so many trailer makers out there.

Enjoy,

You mean more like 15" wheel or tire outside diameter? and (multi) ply tires? Just curious and keeping things inline Most small trailer tires are going to be around 4 ply.

15" wheel, sorry, I believe 6 ply. Though for a few more bucks I might just upgrade to 15" radial tires, 5 lug config. Its less than $100 bones more.

How did the hitch install go? Are you happy with it?

It turned out fine. I just took my time. the only thing that shows is the receiver. I'll post some pictures - eventually.

I've never installed a hitch, is it a bolt on for our cars? Or does that just depend on brand?

The curt hitch was bolt on. No drilling or cutting. I think all the other brands that are available for the car are both on as well though some others may require more disassembly and reassembly than the Curt
