Curt Hitch or Hidden Hitch for 2015 Honda Fit LX?

Both are about the same price.

Curt hitch bolts up. Hidden hitch requires removing and cutting a notch on the bumper cover. Hidden hitch sits about 2 inches higher than curt. All up to preference. Both work well for towing, bike racks, and other accessories.

Oh! I just read the installation file CM_11406_INS.PDF for the Hidden Hitch on Honda 2015 Fit and it says 'no cutting'. Thanks for the pointer.

My fault sorry. When I thought Hidden Hitch, I thought it was the Torklift Hitch. Two completely different products. This one yes you do have to notch out the bumper. The Hidden Hitch you do not.

I watched the Torklift video. The video didn't show that you have to cut the bumper but it looks so tight I wonder.

It seems like the Torklift has the most ground clearance, followed by Hidden Hitch, with Curt the least. Is that correct?

Obviously, if the receiver is high enough to require trimming of the plastic it will have more ground clearance. The rear of a Fit is fairly stubby so I don't think that ground clearance is an issue.

I'd love it if a manufacturer would make a hitch that came straight out of the rear bumper at the level of the body attach points. Put the receiver behind the plastic and you could make a flush cover for it. It would be stronger and there would be no clearance issue! Design it properly and it wouldn't even impair the rear bumper crush structure unless the receiver is attached.

The Hidden Hitch and Curt should be exactly the same height. The Torklift yes is higher and comes in a 2" or 1-1/4" receiver.

I used a 4" riser. this is an old pic, but being in a riser configuration I put a backing plate in case the hitch gets knocked forward. I'll get an updated pic later at some point. Here is the pic from Etrailer.

The hitch i put on said you had to bend the bracket for the exhaust which is 1/4" steel rod and basically impossible for me without removing the muffler from the car , what you are trying to do is get clearand for a bolt that sticks down and hits the top of the muffler. I took a hammer and put a dent in the top of the muffler...it worked "ok"

Another option I'm considering is the Drawtite 24776 which seems easier to install than the Curt or Hidden Hitch products

Just installed a curt on my 2016 LX. Direct bolt up, no clearance issues. Very easy installation.

This one looks neat as well. Bolts right up to the frame rails and tow bar. Draw tite - etrailer.com

Hello I have a 2019 Fit - when you say no clearance issues you mean no scraping on hills?
