Has Anyone Moved the Drivers Seat Back?

Unlike my GE Fit, on the GK there's still 2 inches or so gap behind the drivers seat when the back seats are folded down. With this space available, has anyone tried to remount the drivers seat a little further back? It looks like the mounting holes at the front of the seat could be slotted out a half inch or so without weakening the structure. I haven't removed the plastic covers over the back mounting holes to see what those look like.

I'm finding that while my GE Fit and my wife's new GK have the same nominal front legroom, I feel cramped in the GK. I'd love to gain an extra half inch of legroom.

Also, I tried searching but didn't have any luck finding threads about adding washers for tilting the seat. It would be handy if those threads showed what the rear seat mounts look like with the plastic covers removed.

Definitely interested as well Ultrawolf. I think I really only need an inch or so to really improve legroom for me.

I think you might find this thread useful. Please also note post #8 and following discussion as an improved solution.

Thank you, TnTkr! I was hoping someone knew of a thread where this had been done. Like the poster in the other thread, I was also thinking of making adapter plates instead of just slotting out the existing holes. I actually wouldn't make this mod on my wife's new Fit as I won't drive it that much. But I'm thinking of buying one of the last GKs for myself and some form of seat mod makes it a more feasible choice as a car.

Thanks again!

Yes, $300 seems a little steep for what you get, but compared with some other car accessories it could be money well spent.

I'm like 80% sure I have a new driver's side one, I only ended up needing to do the passengers side. Let me check tommorow and see, maybe we can figure something out.

Wooo better late than never

I finally found it although admittedly it was not where I thought it was and I had stopped looking for it about a week ago lol. Let me know if you need it. 609 744 2330 Scott
