rear seat fell from up position

Twice now, one of my back seats has fallen from the full up position. Has this ever happened to you? I am concerned it will one day clobber my dog resting on the floor of the back seat.

On our GD, you have to push and lock back the front support bar that comes up with the seat in order to lock the seat back.

Maybe the GK is like that as well?

You're sure the seatbelt wasnt accidentally closed in the locking mechanism? Also do you mean the seat back, or seat bottom? (No sorry this has never happened to me.)

I assume the OP had the magic seats in Tall mode as described here: https://www.hondadealersofnewengland...a-magic-seats/

I've never had it happen and I've driven at least 80 miles with it up, even going over a few sets railroad tracks.

When you lock it upwards, can you manually force it down without flipping the seat leg? If so, then sounds like the locking mechanism isn't doing it's job.

Sure does sound that way - I've driven with mine up a few times, and have even pulled back on them with body weight in upright locked position, and neither budges....not even with handle pulled out several inches. Either the latching mech is bad, or possibly, as someone noted above, the seatbelt might've gotten caught in there while raising the seat bottom?

I ride in magic mode almost exclusively and it has never ever fallen from the upright locked posiiton. Check the latch.

For the past few days I've been running in tall mode and they've stayed up the whole time for over 300 miles. I go over 6 sets of railroad tracks a day as well. When I push down on the seat bottom, it doesn't budge. When I flip the seat leg, the seat bottom moves as it should.

I think there is only two possibilities here....
Either user error OR defective seats.
Assuming the OP is locking the seats upright as they should...then that leaves broken seat.
Especially with a dog riding in the back...it's a potential safety issue. I'd get it checked out.
