Anyone ever tried installing a Civic drivers seat?

Looking to see if anyone has ever tried to install a seat from a Civic into a GK5. I know they will mount differently, and am ok with fab work, but morso the question about the connection of the air bag system. I also own a 2013 CR-V and have had the seat out for cleaning purposes and notice the connections looked exactly the same as my 2018 Fit Sports seat.

My hope would be to swap in a seat from a Civic Type R and retain the air bag and have no lights on the dash. You can find these seats for not a lot of money as people ditch them for racing seats all the time.

Anyone ever tried this? Thanks in advance.

Good luck with that dream. Civic seats are larger in size. Plus you will never get the airbag system to work correctly. They are not plug and play in any way.

I mean, if he's ok with disabling the lights.... Buying the resistors to cheat the ECU will keep the lights off but the bags won't deploy in a crash ..... That's up to him....

This is the main issue, you might need to fabricate new rails and jeopardize your safety in a crash. Remember that our cars, the gas tank is under the drivers seat rather than the rear, that means the floor pan is higher and therefore the seats are shorter. A civic seat may bolt in but will sit higher than it should. Even custom aftermarket seats require either shorter brackets or have to be installed at their lowest height setting.
