I found a GK5 quick shifter on AliExpress, it looked ok for the price so I ordered one on a whim but couldn’t install it til the weather warmed up outside.

As a warning, it is listed for GK5, GE and GD models but it DOES NOT FIT GK5.

The frame will hit the metalwork of the car unless you put spacers beneath each screw point to raise the entire shifter assembly up about 1-2cm/half an inch. The bigger issue is that the mounting point for the shift cables, specifically the one on the right, is too close to the shifter pivot. Lastly the cut out for the right shifter cable is too narrow by about 6mm or 1/8-1/4 inch.

This means you can try to get this shifter to work, but it will require heavy modifications to the black portion of the frame. Buyer beware!

When I did fanagle it and get it installed, I could kind of shift between neutral, and kind of shift into 2nd, 4th, and 6th and it felt pretty solid. I may try to modify this or take a grinder to it and try to build the frame but this is NOT a bolt on for the GK5. It does look like from the photos that it was designed for GD Fits.

Anyways, don’t trust parts from Temu/AliEx or you come out with a paperweight, don’t be an ass like me . I will wait til I have a few days off, might try to make a bracket to make this work…
