Same question here. If anyone finds any reasonably priced pure white LEDs that fit the map and dome, it would be a nice improvement over the slightly blu-ish JTech bulbs that I'm now using.

You buy that from a dealer or On-Line? Pic? Part Number? Please dish-coin!

It was about five years ago, and I probably don't have the paperwork any more; not sure if I can dig up the part number. I bought it from Bernardi online. I remember it being called a "lens" but it was the whole assembly with lens, socket, lamp, and switch. A direct snap-in replacement. I'll see if I can find any documentation. This is on a 2008 Fit.

The bulb itself or pulling the bulb housing from the car? If its the housing, only one side pops off, then it sorta "hinges" out. So if one sides doesn't budge, then try the other side.
If its the bulb itself, all I can say is just to wiggle it back and forth and pull. -Tip, it's much easier to unplug the housing from the harness first so you don't have to be at an awkward position when you are trying to work with it.

You just have to tug at it to come out. Its a really snug fit.

use a small flat head and pry from on one corner on the side closer towards the backseat. pops right out.

then the bulb comes out horizontally (parallel with the housing)

Just wanted to bump this thread for any new owners. It really makes a world of difference. Took less than 1 minute to put the new bulb in and it lights up the entire trunk.

For a $10 improvement that will last for years, you will not regret anything.

Agreed! Replaced bulb as soon as it arrived in the mail ... huge difference!
You also have the added comfort of knowing that you are far less likely to run your battery down (far less current used) if you leave the hatch open for an extended period.

NOTE: While working on the car the other night I discovered that there is a timer that shuts off the cargo light after 10 or 15 minutes ... try it yourself!

Someone posted a link to an Amazon seller in Hong Kong shipping 12 Led per bulb for $2.39 each w/free shipping. I took a flyer and ordered one on 8/3/14. It came today, 8/18/14. It appears to fit, sliding easily into the slot and lights up the trunk/cargo area beautifully. Will it last, who knows? You can not beat the price, though. Thanks to ADV for his very helpful walk-through.

I don't think it's the same. It looks like the wedge comes out at a different point. From underneath rather then from the side.

I looked up and down all the Internet and found it. They have it on Amazon but it's a set of 6 for $30. Curious if anyone would want to buy it and then group sell it?

I would be up for buying but wouldn't want to deal with all the shipping to everyone else lol.

Quick question.

Because this is directional and most led's are polarity sensitive( flip the bulb to work), how did you know that the bulb would work with the LED's facing out instead in?

Thanks.
