Protecting your Fit from your pets

For those of you with pets that you haul in the fit, what modifications have you performed?

Any good ideas for cleaning or help keeping it clean?

I had the rear bumper applique installed (my only option). I have also lined the cargo area with some outdoor carpet cut to shape and have an extra piece of carpet that I drape over the rear bumper to help protect it from nail scratches.

Any of you animal-lovers done anything special?

I have two big (70-80 lb.), hairy mutts. I put the magic seats up and they ride there. No mods really other than all-season floor mats.

I'm dreading the day they jump up on the doors and scratch that plastic.

I have a stubborn male English Bulldog that loves to go on car rides, but only in the front seat. My plans are to keep him, or at least try, in the back seat when traveling or going to store/vet/park and am thinking about buying the rear seat covers to use while he is in the car. My only fear is that he is going to slobber all over the door panels and windows while back there. I'm taking him on a road trip for the holidays and am not looking forward to seeing what my car looks like afterwards.

Here he is helping me with my Acura TL

I have a Cairn Terrier who also loves to go for rides. He's pretty good about staying on the rear floor with the seats raised in the "tall mode". I keep an old quilt on the floor and he seems to be nice and comfy back there.

Has anyone had any luck with those back seat hammock-type covers for dogs? I have the sheddiest Corgi on this planet, and he needs to be clipped in with an auto harness, so the back seats are our only option...

Like most, I have the all season floor mats and a towel on the back seat. I also have a liner in the hatch area. A number of vendor make washable seat cover, in fact I was thinking of buying one for the back seat. I was looking at Coverking (just for the back seat).
