Latch will not release. Started with rear seat cushion lifted. Pull up the seat leg, put down the cushion and set the seat leg in the floor guide. A latch comes out. Now I can't lift the seat up. I pull up on the sear and the floor latch remains. Here is the photo from the user guide for 2013 FIT. There is no info in the owner's manual about how to unlatch it if stuck.

 

Try folding the back seat all of the way down, then putting it back up to normal seated position, then pull up the seat cushion... see if that works.

Specboy, YES, that worked. I have my mid-car space back, happily. Thank you SO much for suggesting this simple fix.

 

Glad it worked out for you. I figured that something might have a small piece of dirt or sand stuck in one of the mechanisms and moving things around might clear it up.

Good luck and I suggest vacuuming out the latch area sooner than later in case it was a piece of something (and you can suck it up)

Thanks again Specboy for the follow-up suggestion to clean my car. It was trashed from vacationing with kids at the beach. I have vacuumed back to almost original condition. It is so great to get help from unknown web world.
