Armrest DIY... version 2

Hi folks! As you know from a previous post, to me a functional armrest is a requirement in my cars. The 2015 misses the mark in this department.

I had previously posted on this:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/3rd-...s-armrest.html

and made a "prop" in order to use the stock armrest.

I just finished building a proper armrest based on tbFit's ideas. Thanks tbFit!

I absolutely LOVE my new armrest! It is soooooo comfortabel and cost about $20 to make. That was for the Velcro straps and the cover material. All other materials came from discarded items.

You can see many photos of the build in this album:

Very creative bulldogtrekker! I didn't know you'd need to alter the armrest for the 2nd gen. At least, your model had a functional armrest from the start..

The Fit Sport comes with an armrest attached to the driver's seat, but I found it to be too low, too short and too close to the driver's seat.

Korgster, looks nice! An arm rest is probably the first mod I will make to the fit once I get one. Did you buy the pillow somewhere or did you make it?

Also, I'm a bit confused because your 2015 fit ex has heated seats, and a key hole. Does it have push button start?

Thanks.
Yes I made it. Have a look at my album link earlier on this post. I took lots of photos in the process. I used foam material from a discarded leather couch.

I used the foam from the seat part as it was denser than the back.

The armrest is soooo comfortable, I couldn't be happier.

Ask if you have more questions. I'd be happy to help.

as for this question... in Canada an EX doesn't have keyless as stock. The EX-Navi does. ALong with leather seats, etc. For us, it wasn't worth the extra $3K.
