Question Yellow 2019 vs 2016

I'm planning to buy a Fit this or next week. I've been wanting the color yellow for a long time (although I never owned one). I love the brightness and uniqueness among the usual colors. However, when I did a test drive yesterday, I found the yellow shade isn't the same one I loved before. It's a orangish yellow now (Helio Yellow Pearl). It used to be a bright yellow (Mystic Yellow Pearl). I like the brighter one much better. The Helio yellow looks like a taxi! So now I'm torn between two choices: A new Fit with the shade Helio Yellow and a used Fit with shade Mystic Yellow.

Following are the pros and cons to me:
New Fit
Pro: New, has sport trim option (I like the interior), Apple CarPlay 7 inch touch screen option, safety sensing system option
Con: the darker yellow, more expensive

Used Fit
Pro: Brighter yellow shade which doesn't look like a taxi, CD player included (2019 Sports and EX don't include that), cheaper
Con: used car, about 50k mileage, no option for Apple Carplay

Back and forth, I still can't decide. What do you guys think? Can't sleep without the decision made and would love for any feedback and suggestion.

Thanks a lot!

Ha ha. You certainly did a detailed comparison. Congratulations. I don't know if my preference helps, but I like the lime yellow car (2016) better than the (2019) taxi yellow better. Maybe if you bought the 2019 model you can hang around the airports and catch customers for ride to help pay for the car.

Also, yellow cars are fashion statements, so you may not enjoy it for more than a few years, therefore, the 2016 50K mile car makes sense to buy. After a few years you can sell it without a tremendous depreciation like you would by buying a new car. As far as the Apple CarPlay I am not sure how much weight it is worth to you, nothing to me.

The 2016 greenish tint makes me want to throw up. Admittedly the 2019 has that taxi look but all things considered the 2019 has a lot of small improvements (slightly better sound deadening and crash protection) and some new technical features (Honda sensing). Frankly I'd want to put as much distance between myself and the 2015 era since some of the problems from then (fuel injectors) did spill over into the early 2016 models. I guess color is not important to me - I got the color I wanted but actually any of the colors would have been acceptable to me (except white). So many other more important things. You don't mention price between the two which is another factor.

In person, I think Helios yellow looks better. Mystic yellow looks faded even when new.

I agree with woof. If cost isn't that important, buying a 2015 just for the color is a mistake.

Throw some blue tear vinyl on the 2019 and you have a Spoon livery.

What's the price difference?

I like the 2019 color better.

I showed the 2015/17 yellow color to my brother. He said the car, “looks like a Marshmallow Peep!”

Personally I’m disappointed they don’t offer orange or green on the Fit.

They do offer 'orange fury'. Alas, no green. I'd like a darker metallic green.

Yes, a darker metallic green would be nice. Japan has more colors for their Fit (Jazz?) than we have - I believe it's 3 or 4 more choices than is available here.

It's a 'Fit' in Japan. 'Jazz' in other parts of the world.
Yes, Japan always reserves the best stuff for their home market.

They're you go. Mystic yellow is more likely to crash into restaurants. Another reason to avoid it.

Yeah. I forgot that for a moment. Too bad it looks more like “salmon pink” to my eyes.

IDK. You might think the new one looks like a taxi cab. I think the 2015 yellow looks like Service Master yellow. Personally I'd buy the newer sport.

The sport trim just makes it look so much sharper and aggressive imo.
On the other end, if you decide to get the older model, you can use that extra money to mod it
Overall it depends on your budget. Id say go for the newer one and mod it anyways.
