How often do you use ECO mode?

My grandfather, who owns an Accord, has eco mode on all the time. When I got my Fit, I just assumed I should do the same thing. I typically leave it on unless I decide to have some fun

I forgot it existed until you brought it up.

It's been off on a few occasions just to keep the A/C on full power till the inside of the vehicle is noticeably cooler. Otherwise, ECO mode has been on since day 1.

Same here. I keep eco on as much as possible.

Almost on all the time, except when I need the most power climbing uphill in winter.

Honestly, I seem to get as good or better MPG without ECO. So I don't use it.

NEVER. I've never found ECO mode on any car to be useful for anything. The Fit gets great gas mileage without it. The ECO mode weakens the A/C output among other things which results in more people posting here whining about the weak cooling in the Fit.

The A/C is weak whether or not the ECO mode is on. Actually in ECO mode the engine sounds quieter when accelerating....slower, but quieter.

ECON is pretty much on all the time unless I'm driving through the mountains.

It's been on since day 1. I just switch to sport mode when I want peppiness. I wonder if sport mode takes into account the ECO mode, seems like it should ignore it considering how sport mode is the opposite of what eco mode is trying to achieve.

Sluggish throttle response and an anemic air conditioning

It's always on. I think the mpg is noticablely different.

I stopped using it a few years ago. The car's responses in stop and go traffic are just too dulled. Also, I'm in Tampa Bay area, and the AC is already barely enough. Finally, I didn't see much difference in the mileage.

I use it all the time now for the dulled response. My husband is on chemo and radiation therapy and the slow acceleration and gentle braking prevent him from getting nauseated, so it’s kind of a godsend.

Best wishes to your husband and you. Glad our little Fit can help.

Ours essentially never leaves ECO mode.

Depends how you drive, but we never need to get anywhere in a hurry so I'd rather save the gas. I've tried getting better mileage with it off and it's simply not possible for us, so it stays on. (EX with CVT)

It's on except when I need the A/C when sitting at a long light (I'm guessing this helps but I'm not really sure) and at one highway entrance where I need maximum acceleration.
