Question 2015 EX MT Shudders when backing up.

So I bought a 2015 EX with the manual, with 4000 miles on the clock, which had been barely used by its previous owner. I like it so far, however, whenever I back up, the entire car shudders; specially when backing up on an incline. It happens all the time and I don't know what's the reason for it. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation?

Suggest you consider eliminating yourself as the cause. Have another manual driver give it a try. See the result and work from there.

My mother-in-law has a 16ex w/mt and I have the same problem when I back hers up if the A/C is on or defroster is on, or sometimes in 1st if I’m a little to ginger with the clutch. She also just hit the 4K mark and tells me I’m being too light on the gas and to give it “a little umpf” or she’ll chatter. I have a 16ex cvt and have grown rather fond of it because of this.

I love the fact that your mother-in-law has an MT. God bless her.
