Auto Headlights Question

If I want the headlights to come on sooner, do I set them to LOW or HIGH?

The manual doesn't seem to say what these settings do, exactly.

Does LOW and HIGH refer to ambient light?

The settings refer to sensitivity.

So setting to HIGH means high sensitivity, meaning the lights will come on sooner.

I’ll try that for a while m

I have never used the auto feature. Do you just set it to auto and leave it there forever? When you turn the car off, do they turn off automatically?

Yes and Yes, that is exactly what you do.

Leaving your headlight position to ON, the lights will also turn off after about 30s or so. I just leave my lights on all the time. I've got LED bulbs so I don't care about the life of them. With the lights set to on, the rear running lights are illuminated, hopefulyy for better visbility.

I have been considering doing exactly that.

I also have some cheap LED and after seeing my car with the DRL on, I worry that they are too bright.

Maybe leaving low beam headlights on all the time is a better solution than pulling the DRL fuse.

What's it matter if the DRL looks too bright?

Because the DRL are high beams on the GK5, you run the risk of annoying people.

DRL switching illuminated DRL at a lower voltage, but it can still seem too bright if the high beams are LED, especially in the gloaming.

My LED DRLs are definitely brighter than the stock halogens, but nothing blinding or obtrusive.

OK, had to google gloaming soI learned something new today, LOL.

Thank you both. I had no idea that the lights would turn off automatically.

On my 2015, when I turn the car off, the lights stay on for a few minutes.
