2016 Fit won't unlock or start- it's not the key fob battery

After 2 or 3 days of no-problem driving, I try to unlock my Fit with my key fob- and no response! I changed out the battery in the key fob, thinking that was the issue, but no dice. Car lights don't flash in response to pressing any of the buttons on the key fob.

I bought a car jump started and tried to jump the car, but the car wouldn't start, and also tried to push the Start button with the key fob itself- no luck.

What have I got? A dead battery? Thanks a million FitFreaks!

Welcome. Starters are a problem area on the GK5, esp. on the pushbutton start models like yours; not so much on the key start models.

Could be the starter, the start switch, or both. The fact that the engine couldn't be jump started makes me think it's not a dead battery.

I believe the electric circuit on the pushbutton start models is not robust enough, and eventually, the starter and/or switch go. Don't know how many miles you have, but that's my best guess.

with the jump start, does the starter cranks? I would check the health of the battery first.
12.8-13.2 fully charged
12.4 75% charged
12.0 25% charged
11.4 discharged
10.5 short or dead cell

2016 Fit EX US model. I hate that when I open the door on the driver side none of the other doors unlock. I have to either use the remote or the unlock button inside. From a safety perspective this could be useful but not where I live.

I think there's a way to change the setting for that. Look on page 104 of the manual.
