Last week I had a look on a MY2020 GK Jazz on dealer's showroom, and as I have seen mentioned elsewhere, it has a shallow shape trunk floor, which would not fit for storing any kind of spare wheel. Unlike MY2019 and earlier GK's, which have deep spare wheel well and a threaded bracket for securing the spare wheel. As this 2020 is Japanese built for European market, I'd be curious to hear if you have same difference in Mexican built North-American models.
And if North-American models have the same change, I'd like to get ideas what is this bolted small very sturdy looking tray bolted under the trunk. I haven't found any spare part pictures for 2020 model, which would give some idea of the purpose.
I think with NA models they never had plans to have an AWD variant as it would eat into their margins on more profitable vehicles. So it’s only Jazz from certain markets that have the shallow well to leave room for the AWD option. This was how my friend with a GE explained it to me.
So as you say difference in manufacturing origin must mean they didn’t change tooling and have shipped shallow well variants.
All the GKs I’ve seen recently are Mexican manufactured and deep well variants.
This may be because they are releasing the 4th gn for the 2020 MY for many markets. So they likely are not manufacturing many, if any, new 3rd gens. So you may have gotten one from a different market, to fulfill need with limited supply
What I have heard all MY2020 Jazzes in Europe (both RHD and LHD) have that shallow trunk floor, not just some. But the actual question is what an earth is that tray under the floor.

That's kind of awesome, if anyone wants to do an AWD conversion that's now a possibility. It's hard to find floor models where I'm at so I doubt I'll find any at my local Honda, but maybe I'll check when I go by.
If you mean the styrofoam, that's just to hold the inflator if there is one, and support weight from things put in the trunk so it doesn't collapse the trunk floor. If you mean the metal structure under the car that's probably placeholders for where the rear differential would normally bolt up to.

I mean the sturdy welded tube and plate tray under the car. That's an interesting idea, that it's a placeholder for rear differential. Still makes me wonder why it needs to be there in FWD car. It'd be interesting to see a picture taken under AWD Fit rear axle.

I think the differential actually goes inside the welded tube, maybe it’s like a rear skid plate.
my 2015 manual has a spare tire but i was told the automatics do not have a spare
maybe the bracket is to hold the spindly frame together? maybe when they made the spare tire area not as deep they realized they needed to reinforce the pull/jacking point?
or maybe its just to protect the tank behind it...is it the evap canister?...what is that lump?

I visited the dealer today for parts for my truck and asked the staff about the mysterious thingy in the MY2020 Jazz in their showroom. They didn't know either but got the information from spare parts pictures. When I had a look at it previously and took the picture posted earlier in this thread, I didn't notice that actually there are pipes going there and the tray is protecting the fuel tank evaporation charcoal filter system. I guess our Jazzes have had that system already before 2020, so the question is why is it re-positioned for the last model year. Maybe it had to be bigger than previously.
