Gk5 Factory Defective Rear Twist Beam?

So I have had a 2015 and a 2019 Honda Fit and the toe went out exactly the same on both cars on the drivers side rear at around the same mileage. Very weird, I wonder if it is a defective issue from the factory. Lol Honda will be more than glad to replace the whole rear assembly though for $2000. No thanks lol I'll just buy a $10 shim for the toe and correct it.

2000

If Trump's 2000 dollar covid relief check goes through then you'll have enough for the dealer to fix this.

in other words , lots of luck ! an entire beam from Benardi Honda is around $827 , it's gone up since the last time i looked , the one for the sport model appears
to be a little stiffer ( a tad more roll stiffness built in ) not exactly a very complicated swap . or , yes , a few bucks for a shim and an alignment .
was it the dealer that gave you the diagnosis on the two cars ?

Not sure how that is even possible. In order for your steel rear end to bend you would have had to hit something extremely hard. It doesn't go bad from mileage.

I kinda feel like for them both to go bad at the same mileage, they're more likely subjected to the same pattern of "less than pleasant" drives (or habits) during that time.

Say it is damaged from driving. Is it worth the $ fixing if the tires aren't getting chewed up?
spoon sports sells a adjustment plate for toe for $350 and improves the handling. Would this be worth buying with a damaged rear beam?

Or would it be wise to fix the beam then buy the adjustment plate?

That's shockingly expensive, you won't even be able to see a Spoon logo on a part like that.

Seriously, though, there are apparently cheap shims that can be used, I haven't done it myself but I've seen it mentioned a few times over the last year or two.

Tweaking Toe On A Rear Twist Beam

I don't think I would bother if I didn't notice increased tire wear or a different feel when driving.
